BRYAN, TX -- The Texas A&M football team will kick off the 2010 season Saturday evening at 6pm against Stephen F. Austin.

After three weeks of August workouts, the Maroon & White is looking forward for seeing a different face on the other side of the ball.

The Aggies enter the season with plenty of optimism as their offense returns plenty of weapons from a year ago that saw it finish 5th in the country in total offense.

It's on the other side of the ball that's getting most of the attention. Head Coach Mike Sherman has gone to a 3-4 alignment and hired four defensive coaches including Defensive Coordinator and Assistant Head Coach Tim DeRuyter from Air Force.

"It goes without saying that we have to come out of the blocks early and often in this game," said Sherman.

"They have a lot of confidence throwing the ball. Our confidence will be predicated on how good a job we match up to them. It's important we come out and have a good showing against what they do. They spread you out, try to get isolations on people and try to expose you that way."

KBTX's award winning Aggie Game Day pregame show will broadcast live from the Aggie Fan Zone on Saturday from 4-5pm on the CW-Texas (digital channel 3.2).

The show will break down the match up with the Lumberjacks with our two minute drill. Go beyond the sidelines with Aggie Game Day Analyst Boone Stutz. There will also be reports on what's going on at Fan Zone leading up to the season opening kick-off at 6pm from Kyle Field.
