Rudder Rolls Over Rouse 63-27
The Rudder Rangers have won their first two games to start the season following a 63-27 win over Leander Rouse.

BRYAN, TX -- The Rudder Rangers have won their first two games to start the season following a 63-27 win over Leander Rouse.

Rudder quarterback Kyle Danford rushed for 100 yards and scored 2 touchdowns, while he threw for three more scores.

Mike Jones led the Ranger receivers with 2 touchdowns, while Tre Hammand added 1 more.

C.J. Curtis was the leading rusher for Rudder with 148 yards and a touchdown.

In a ballgame full of highlights the biggest play was probably turned in by Brenden Steptoe.

On a field goal attempt, Rudder's special forces block the kick and Steptoe is able to scoop it up and go the other way 90 yards for the special teams score.

Rudder with a couple of first on the night, the win gives them their first 2-0 start in program history. They also set a program record by scoring 63 points in a game.

It will be a battle of unbeatens next week at Merrill Green Stadium in Bryan as Rangers (2-0) host Navasota (2-0). Kickoff will be at 7:30pm.
