Texas A&M will hold a media conference Thursday morning to discuss its investigation of the VIP Connection.

Two weeks ago it was learned that head football coach Dennis Franchione had been e-mailing a secret newsletter to a small group of Aggie football boosters.

Those in the inner circle were paying 12-hundred dollars per year for the information.

Franchione said he had already discontinued the newsletter before the story broke.

On Tuesday, October 2, Texas A&M interim president Dr. Ed Davis released a statement in which he confirmed the university would investigate the matter, “I have asked Bill Byrne and the athletic department, as well as our NCAA compliance officer, to urgently look into the matter of the VIP email list to insure there are no violations of NCAA rules or regulations.”

Athletic Director Bill Byrne and Texas A&M officials will talk about the results of that probe Thursday.
