Statement from Dennis Franchione

"As many of you know, I have apologized to our players for causing a distraction. I would also like to apologize to Bill Byrne, the Texas A&M administration and all of the Aggies everywhere, for causing any negative publicity to this school and athletic program.

I was trying to keep some loyal Aggies informed on our program in greater detail throughout the year with the e-mails. Please do not blame them. They were only trying to support our program.

I am preparing to help our team play an excellent opponent this weekend and I will not have any further comment on this matter."
