Aggies Picked To Finish Third In Preseason Big 12Coaches Poll

IRVING -- Big 12 Conference men's basketball coaches have picked Texas A&M to finish third in the 2008 conference race.

For the second consecutive year, Kansas is the preseason favorite to win the conference title in voting by the league¹s head coaches. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own teams. The Jayhawks received 10 of 12 possible first-place votes.

A&M earned the other two first-place votes and was picked third with 101 points. The Aggies are coming off the best season in school history (27-7) and will be led by seniors Joseph Jones and Dominique Kirk along with junior Josh Carter. The Aggies are ranked No. 11 nationally in the preseason by The Sporting News.
