COLLEGE STATION, Texas--The defending Big 12 Champion Texas A&M baseball team will conclude fall workouts this weekend with the annual Fall World Series at Olsen Field.

The "Roughnecks" and the "Plowboys" will be battling it out in a best-of-three series for the title. Game times are 6 p.m. on Friday, 11 a.m. on Saturday, and if a third game is necessary, it will be played at 6 p.m. Monday. All games are nine innings, admission is free and fans are encouraged to attend.

"We look forward to the Fall World Series every year," head coach Rob Childress said. "The guys have really taken pride and ownership in our fall workouts, which have been very intense and competitive. It will be fun to see them go out between the lines to battle for the World Series title."

Texas A&M's roster was divided into three teams throughout fall workouts. The Roughnecks won two games this week to qualify for the world series, defeating the "Farmers" 9-4 on Monday and the Plowboys 7-1 on Tuesday. The Plowboys earned a chance at a rematch with a 4-1 victory over the Farmers Wednesday evening. The Farmers' roster was dispersed onto the two competing teams in a draft on Thursday.

Returning players on the Roughnecks' roster include Blake Stouffer, Kyle Colligan, Luke Anders, Darby Brown, Kyle Thebeau and Jordan Chambless.

Returning players on the Plowboys' roster include Ben Feltner, Dane Carter, Brian Ruggiano, Brodie Greene, Clayton Ehlert, Scott Migl, Travis Starling and Blake Rampy.

The Plowboys are the defending champions, having defeated the Farmers two games to one in the 2006 Fall World Series.

"We hope the fans can make it out to Olsen this weekend and get one last look this fall at our returning players and our crop of newcomers," Childress said. "If the fall has been any indication, this should be a very intense series."

The Aggies return 18 letterwinners, six position starters and two starting pitchers from a 2007 squad that went 48-19 and claimed the Big 12 Championship in Oklahoma City and the NCAA College Station Regional crown.

Texas A&M opens the 2008 season on Friday, Feb. 22 with a 6:30 p.m. game against Northern Colorado at Olsen Field.
