LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) - It was a good night for McNeese State.
Backup Toddrick Pendland ran for three touchdowns, Derrick Fourroux
completed 70 percent of his passes and Carlese Franklin had his
third straight game with more than 100 yards in receptions. And the
Cowboys beat Sam Houston State 31-21.
Pendland had 90 yards on 16 carries, with touchdown runs of
nine, 14 and 24 yards for the Cowboys (6-0, 2-0 Southland
Conference) - two of them only 17 seconds apart.
Fourroux completed 21 of 30 passes for 281 yards, including a
50-yard touchdown throw to Quinten Lawrence. Franklin caught nine
passes for 120 yards.
Sam Houston (2-4, 0-2) was led by Chris Poullard, who had 21
carries for 103 yards and two touchdowns and caught a 20-yard pass
from Rhett Bomar for a third. Bomar was 22-for-35 and 277 yards.
