Osborne Says He Hasn't Been Offered Interim AD Job

By  |

LINCOLN, NE -- Tom Osborne says he hasn't been offered the
interim athletic director's job, and he doesn't know if he will.

There has been speculation that the Nebraska coaching legend
would be a natural choice to fill in as athletic director after
Steve Pederson's firing today.

Osborne says tonight that he feels bad that Pederson got fired.
Pederson worked for Osborne in the football office at Nebraska in
the 1980s and '90s.

Osborne wouldn't say whether he would take the interim AD's job
if offered.

Osborne was Nebraska's coach from 1973 through '97, winning
national titles in three of his last four years.
