Bucs Drop In Volleyball Poll

It was a wild weekend in NJCAA Division I volleyball as there were upsets throughout the top-20 rankings.

Topping the list is #7 Frank Phillips College defeating top-ranked Western Nebraska 30-27, 28-30, 15-12 at the Seward County Invitational.

With the Frank Phillips loss 2004 runner-up Salt Lake Community College (Salt Lake City, Utah) moves up one to take the top spot in the nation.

Four-time national champion Miami Dade College (Miami, Fla.) moves up two spots to second and Frank Phillips College (Borger, Texas), with an impressive showing this weekend, moves up four spots to third.

Here is a look at the up and down weekend:

#1 Western Nebraska: lost to #7 Frank Phillips - drops fours spot to fifth.

#3 Blinn: lost to #11 Tyler, #5 University of Arkansas-Fort Smith and others receiving votes Panola - drops eight spots to 11th.

#4 Miami Dade: defeated #20 St. Petersburg, #13 Florida, #8 Hillsborough and #18 MSU-West Plains - moves up two spots to second.

#5 University of Arkansas-Fort Smith: defeated #3 Blinn, #18 MSU-West Plains - moves up one spot to fourth.

#7 Frank Phillips: defeated #9 Barton, #14 Hutchinson, #1 Western Nebraska, #17 Northeastern.

#8 Hillsborough: defeated #20 St. Petersburg (twice) and lost to #16 Pasco-Hernando (twice), #18 MSU-West Plains and #4 Miami Dade - drops seven spots to 15th.

#13 Florida: lost to #18 MSU-West Plains, #4 Miami Dade, #16 Pasco-Hernando - moves down four spots to 17th.

#15 Seward County: lost to #16 Northeastern, others receiving votes Arizona Western, #14 Hutchinson - drops from the top-20.

#16 Pasco-Hernando: defeated #8 Hillsborough (twice), #13 Florida and #18 SMU-West Plains - moves up six spots to 10th.

#18 MSU-West Plains: defeated #13 Florida, #8 Hillsborough, #20 St. Petersburg and lost to #5 Arkansas-Fort Smith, #16 Pasco-Hernando, #4 Miami Dade - moves up four spots to 14th.

#20 St. Petersburg: lost to #8 Hillsborough (twice), #4 Miami Dade, #18 MSU-West Plains - drops from the top-20.
