LINCOLN, Neb. -- Nebraska and Texas A&M will try to put aside distractions dogging them and play a football game Saturday in Lincoln, Nebraska.
This after Nebraska athletic director Steve Pederson was fired,
coaching legend Tom Osborne was named to replace him, and the heat
on coach Bill Callahan gets cranked up.
Texas A&M is coming off a 35-7 loss at Texas Tech. That after
the administration's admonition of coach Dennis Franchione for
putting out a secretive for-pay newsletter to boosters.
Callahan said he's trying to stick to his game-week routine, but
it's not easy.
He says if your job is one where people talk about you every
day, it's not a real good feeling.
Coaches from both teams say their task is to keep their players
minds' on what happens on the field.
