COLLEGE STATION -- The sixth-ranked Texas A&M women’s swimming & diving team will split into two groups and swim at both the SMU Invitational in Dallas and against Northern Arizona and North Texas in Denton this weekend.
Eight swimmers and a diver will compete at the 14th annual SMU Invitational starting Friday at 7:30 p.m. and continuing on Saturday at the same time at Perkins Natatorium. The Aggies (2-0) will compete against five other teams, four of whom are ranked while the other is receiving votes in the first Top 25 dual meet poll released Tuesday.
The Aggies enter the meet as the highest ranked team in the bunch. They will face off against No. 10 SMU, No. 15 USC, No. 16 Wisconsin, No. 21 Florida State, and Alabama.
Those not swimming in the SMU Invitational will compete against both Northern Arizona (0-0) and North Texas (1-2) in Denton on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Pohl Recreation Center. The Aggies have an all-time record of 7-0 against North Texas while this will be their first-ever meeting with Northern Arizona.
