SAN DIEGO -- San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders says the NFL has
determined that Sunday's Chargers-Houston game can take place in
San Diego's Qualcomm Stadium. The ability of Qualcomm to host the
game was in doubt because of the wildfires plaguing Southern
California.
The stadium has been used as a major evacuation center during
the emergency.
Some 46 members of the Chargers organization were forced to
evacuate their homes. The club moved its operations this week to
Phoenix to prepare for Sunday's game with the Texans.
There had been speculation the game might be moved to Houston or
Dallas because of the fires.
Game time is 3:05.
