Bremond won the game of the night in the Class A ranks Friday night, beating Normangee 48-to-41 at Panther Field.
It was a game of big plays and big mistakes.
Normangee's first score came late in the opening period when Colton Smith blocked a Tiger punt at the Bremond 42, deflecting the ball straight to Zech Sams who rumbled in to the end zone for a 6-to-0 lead.
Bremond answered when LiDarral Bailey hit Jarrett Snider for a 52 yard touchdown tying the game at 6.
Later in the second period, Normangee's Justin Mullinnix fired a 44 yard touchdown strike to Chandrick Evans putting the Panthers on top 13-to-6.
The home team led it 20-to-12 at the break.
The second half was a back-and-forth score fest.
Ricky Williams scored on a long run for Bremond while Jordan Mullinnix tallied a couple of touchdowns for Normangee.
Bailey put the Big Red ahead to stay with a 69 yard bomb to Jeremy Baker in the fourth quarter.
But the home team made it interesting by driving to Bremond's doorstep trailing by just seven points.
On the last play of the game, Justin Mullinnix lofted a pass into the end zone, but it fell incomplete giving Bremond the win.
The Tigers are now 7-&-2 and close out the regular season at home against Chilton next week.
Normangee falls to 8-&-1 and travels to Wortham to wrap up the regular season.
Both clubs will be in the playoffs.
Mark Mullinnix, son of Normangee head coach Brian Mullinnix, was an honorary captain for the Panthers.
