STILLWATER, OK -- Starting linebacker Chris Collins has left the Oklahoma State football team to attend his assault trialin Texas this week and he may not return in time to play Saturday against fifth-ranked Kansas.

Coach Mike Gundy says he isn't sure when Collins might return to
the team.

Collins is due to stand trial tomorrow in a Bowie County state
district court in New Boston, Texas, on an aggravated sexual
assault charge. The case stems from an after-prom party in 2004,
when Collins was still attending Texarkana's Texas High School.

Oklahoma State has a policy that injured players who don't
practice by at least Wednesday won't play in that week's games.
Gundy says the policy would also hold true in Collins' situation.

Collins missed four games this season before returning Saturday
and making five tackles in a 38-35 loss to Texas.
