HOUSTON -- Is this the Rocket's last glare? Could be. Roger Clemens is ready to join the Houston Astros -- as a consultant.
In a sign that Clemens' pitching career could be over, his agent
told the Astros that the seven-time Cy Young winner is set to start
his personal-services contract with the team.
Agent Randy Hendricks says the 45-year-old Clemens is "moving
toward retirement" while leaving the door open to pitch another
season. The 354-game winner was 6-and-6 in 17 starts with the
Yankees last season.
