LAWRENCE, KS -- Kansas guard Sherron Collins will be out six weeks after having surgery for a stress fracture in his left foot. Kansas coach Bill Self says he expects the 5-foot-11 sophomore to be back by January.

Collins is the Jayhawks' leading scorer with a 16-point average
for their first two games.

Collins rolled his ankle last night against Missouri-Kansas
City. He went to the locker room briefly, then came out and
finished the game.

Self says the injury aggravated an existing stress fracture and
required surgery.

The Jayhawks are still without guard Brandon Rush while he
recovers from knee surgery.
