Navasota got the Brazos Valley off on the right foot, thumping Needville 41-to-20 in the Class 3A Division One playoffs Thursday night.

The Rattlers relied on Dexter Pratt to get them off to a quick start at Klein Memorial Stadium.

The junior running back scored on carries of 25, 4, and 13 yards in the first half.

Then Pratt took a swing pass from Jacolby Stokes, tipped it into the air, caught it a second time, and raced 78 yards for his fourth touchdown of the first half.

The 21-point win sends the Rattlers on to face the winner of Jasper and Splendora in round number two next week.
