Cynthia Yarotsky, the Montgomery High School product who is the only senior on the 2007 Sam Houston State volleyball squad, has been named as a first team selection on this year's All-Southland Conference squad.

Yarotsky led the Southland in kills this season with a total of 431 in 1398
attempts. She averaged 3.99 kills per game. The 5-11 outside hitter also
ranked among the top 10 in the league in digs with 506. Yarotsky twice was named as a Southland Conference volleyball "Player of the Week" during the season, once for offense and once for defense.

"Cynthia has been a tremendous leader for us this season," SHSU Head Coach Brenda Gray said. "She is a competitor with a will to win that is contagious with a great passion for the game."
