Caldwell saw its playoff run stopped Friday night.
The Hornets fell to Kirbyville 49-to-28 in Class 3A Division Two Region III play.
The Wildcats, one of the storied programs of East Texas, led by 13 points at the half and expanded that margin at Turner Stadium in Humble.
Caldwell ends its season at 9-&-2.
Kirbyville is 11-&-1 and faces China Spring next.
