LINCOLN, Nebraska (AP) - Bo Pelini has been hired as Nebraska's
head football coach.
The 39-year-old Pelini replaces Bill Callahan, who was fired
last weekend after the Cornhuskers' second losing season in four
years. Pelini has been serving as LSU's defensive coordinator under
Les Miles.
Pelini was on Frank Solich's coaching staff at Nebraska in 2003, and was elevated to interim head coach when Solich was fired after the regular season. Pelini led the Huskers
to a victory in the Alamo Bowl.
