HOUSTON (AP) - The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a chance to clinch the NFC South title tomorrow in Houston.
But veteran Bucs linebacker Derrick Brooks wants to make sure
his younger teammates don't take the struggling Texans lightly.
The Buccaneers take a four-game winning streak into Houston and
can nail down the division title with a win over the Texans or
losses by New Orleans and Carolina.
Tampa Bay quarterback Jeff Garcia is likely to return after
being knocked out of the game against Washington two weeks ago with
a deep back bruise.
The Texans aren't so lucky. Coach Gary Kubiak said it would take
a "miracle" for quarterback Matt Schaub to play this week after
dislocating his left shoulder against the Titans last Sunday.
Kubiak says Schaub's out of his sling, but "he's still hurting
pretty good."
With Schaub out, the Texans will go to Sage Rosenfels at
quarterback. He's had the most action in his seven-year career this
season, starting one game and filling in during four others.
Rosenfels has eight touchdowns and seven interceptions, but he says
getting to play more this season has helped him.
