TALLAHASSEE, FL -- Bobby Bowden has a new contract to coach the football team at Florida State and the school has announced his successor. At a news briefing today, FSU president T.K. Wetherell said that offensive coordinator Jimbo Fisher is the "head-coach in waiting."
The new deal for Bowden means he'll be in his 33rd season, and
the contract is open ended. All the 78-year old has to do is
re-sign the deal every year that he wants to come back and coach.
No timetable has been set for when Fisher will take over.
