NORMAN, Okla. -- Longar Longar and Austin Johnson scored 17
points apiece and combined to lead a late run as Oklahoma pulled
away from Arkansas for an 83-to-72 win today.
Less than a minute after he limped off the floor after a hard
fall, Longar hit two free throws to start a seven-point surge that
extended OU's lead to 75-65 with 2-and-a-half minutes to play.
After a 3-pointer from Johnson, Longar capped the run with a
Longar added a right-handed jam that put OU up 79-68 with less
than a minute left, and the Sooners spent the rest of the game at
the free-throw line.
Omar Leary and Tony Crocker each scored 12, including a
3-pointer from Crocker with about 7-and-a-half minutes left that
put OU ahead to stay.
Michael Washington scored a season-high 16 points and tied his
career-high with 12 rebounds to lead Arkansas (8-2).
Darian Townes added 13 points and Sonny Weems scored 11 for the
Razorbacks, who lost despite pulling down 24 offensive rebounds and
taking 14 more shots than the Sooners.
