HUNTSVILLE -- Shamir McDaniel tossed in a career high 22 points as the Sam Houston State Bearkats beat California Irvine 61-54 to improve to 10 and 0 on the year.

Ryan Bright tossed in 10 points. It's the 62nd time in Bright's Sam Houston State career that he's hit double figures in scoring. He also pulled down 11 rebounds and was 2 assist away from a triple double.

Sam Houston out rebounded the Anteaters 36 to 33.

The win was Sam Houston's 43 straight non conference home win, the second longest home court non conference winning streak in the country.

Sam Houston State will take a couple of days off for the Christmas break before returning to the court on Friday December 28th when they take on San Diego State.
