SAN ANTONIO -- The 2007 Valero Alamo Bowl featuring The Pennsylvania State University and Texas A&M University has exceeded last year’s record-setting attendance of 65,875 in the 65,000-seat Alamodome which will result in a new record crowd for kick-off on December 29 at 7 p.m. CST.

This is the Valero Alamo Bowl’s fifth sellout in the last nine years and the sixth in the 15-year history of the game. The 2007 Valero Alamo Bowl sold-out on December 8 making it the quickest sellout in the game’s history surpassing the December 9 sellout of the 2006 Alamo Bowl between Texas and Iowa.

“This year’s Valero Alamo Bowl match-up between Penn State and Texas A&M has resulted in the highest demand for tickets in our 15-year history,” said John Yantis, 2007 Valero Alamo Bowl Chairman. “I am pleased that with the addition of temporary seating and standing room only sales our game will end up as the most attended sporting event in Alamodome history. Our thanks go to these two universities, their tremendous fan bases and to the City of San Antonio for doing such a great job welcoming bowl fans to the Riverwalk each year.”

All Alamodome parking passes to this event have also been sold. Fans without passes are encouraged to use VIA Park-n-Ride. The roundtrip service will be offered for $6 from Crossroads Mall, Randolph Boulevard Park and Ride, South San Stadium and Parkhills Baptist Church. Service to the Alamodome will begin at 4 p.m. and return service will run for one hour after the conclusion of the game.

Fans driving themselves to downtown are advised to arrive early and utilize the parking garages and surface lots in downtown San Antonio located north and northwest of the Alamodome.

This year’s game will be the 15th installment of the Valero Alamo Bowl and again be televised internationally on ESPN in HD and heard nationally on ESPN Radio and in San Antonio on 1200 WOAI.
