LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) - Texas Tech coach Mike Leach sent two
football players home from the Gator Bowl for unspecified team rule
violations.
The Lubbock Avalanche-Journal reports the disciplinary actions
for running back Shannon Woods and defensive end Brandon Sharpe
involved circumstances from Sunday morning.
Sharpe has missed all but one game this season with an ankle
injury and would not have played in Tuesday's game against Virginia
in Jacksonville, Fla.
Woods had been placed on scout-team duty for the final four
regular season games and bowl practices.
Leach told the newspaper he doesn't yet know how the latest
disciplinary issue will affect Woods' future.
