DALLAS (AP) - Football coach June Jones continues to speak with
SMU officials about their vacant position, two days after he
received an offer from Hawaii.
Agent Leigh Steinberg says the process is ongoing, adding Jones
hasn't taken the Mustangs job and hasn't resigned at Hawaii.
Jones just led the Warriors to a 12-and-0 regular season before
losing big against Georgia at the Sugar Bowl. He took over the
program following an 0-and-11 season and earned nine wins in his
first year at Hawaii.
SMU is seeking a replacement for Phil Bennett, who was fired
last month after six seasons. The Mustangs went 1-and-11 last
season, and are 58-153-and-3 since coming off the death penalty in
