SAN DIEGO (AP) - The San Diego Chargers have ended a 13-year
victory drought in postseason play by rallying in the second half
of a 17-6 win over the Tennessee Titans.
The Chargers had dropped four straight playoff games since
winning the 1994 AFC championship. San Diego also trailed the
Titans 6-0 at halftime before earning the right to take on the
Colts at Indianapolis next weekend.
The Chargers finally took the lead when Vincent Jackson grabbed
a 25-yard touchdown pass from Philip Rivers late in the third
quarter. Jackson had five receptions for 114 yards, and Rivers was
19-of-30 for 292 yards and one interception.
LaDainian Tomlinson was held to 42 yards but was able to
celebrate when his one-yard touchdown run put San Diego ahead 17-6
midway through the final quarter.
The Chargers were able to keep the Titans out of the end zone
and hold Vince Young to 150 total yards. Young was 16-of-29 for 138
yards and one interception.
