BRYAN -- Tuesday night the A&M Consolidated and Bryan girls and boys basketball teams squared off at Reed Arena in the annual crosstown showdown, but more than bragging rights, the two schools also designated the rivalry game as a Coaches vs Cancer contest and raised $520.

Bryan Girls' head basketball coach Beth Jesurun serves on the Texas High School Basketball Coaches Association Coaches Versus Cancer Board and was delighted to learn Thursday that the amount raised was the most at a single high school basketball event in the state of Texas.

"Our local basketball fans have a lot to be proud of and we appreciated them coming out and supporting the teams as well as their willingness to give," said Coach Jesurun.
