Aggies Set For Conference Play

By  |

COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- Texas A&M basketball coach Mark
Turgeon is off to the most successful start for a first-year coach
in Aggie history.
His 11th ranked team has won seven straight.
A&M's 14-1 record is the best opening mark for the Aggies in 86
years.
Turgeon feels his players are just beginning to get comfortable
with him as they prepare for the Big 12 opener tomorrow against
Colorado.
The Aggies had a non-conference performance that included
winning the NIT Season Tip-Off. It ended with a convincing 26-point
win over dinged-up LSU.
Now A&M will begin conference play as one of three Big 12 teams
in the top 12 nationally - Number three Kansas and 12th-ranked
Texas are the others.
