Mallett Makes Move To Arkansas

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Quarterback Ryan Mallett is officially an Arkansas Razorback. He actually moved into a dorm room on Monday, but his enrollment wasn't completed until today.
Mallett transferred from Michigan after Rich Rodriguez was hired
to coach the Wolverines. Mallett is a pocket passer, and Rodriguez
plans to implement the spread offense he used so successfully at
West Virginia. That makes Arkansas coach Bobby Petrino's scheme more attractive to the 6-foot-7 Mallett, who will have three years of eligibility remaining after sitting out the 2008 season.
Mallett played in 11 games last season as a freshman. He
completed 61 of 141 passes for 892 yards with seven touchdown
passes and five interceptions.
Mallett, who lived on the Arkansas side of Texarkana, threw for
more than 2,500 yards and had 27 touchdowns as a senior at
Texarkana High School.
