SAN ANTONIO - The New Orleans Hornets appear to be for
real. Just ask the NBA champion San Antonio Spurs.
David West's 32 points led the Hornets to their eighth straight
victory by routing the Spurs 102-78 on the defending champions'
home floor. Peja Stojakovic (PAY'-zhah stoy-AH'-koh-vich) added 22
points, including four 3-pointers. Chris Paul had 17 points and 11
rebounds for the Hornets.
The Hornets led by as many as 26 points and outscored the Spurs
60-35 in the second half.
Tim Duncan and Tony Parker scored 17 points apiece for San
Antonio, which has now lost five games at home this season.
The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for the Spurs, who
head out on a nine-game road trip starting on Monday.
