CHICAGO -- Buffalo tight end Kevin Everett is walking and slowly regaining full use of his hands less than five months after a catastrophic on-the-field accident.
Everett, who's from Port Arthur, told The Associated Press today
that he's happy people can know him like this. He says it could be
a whole lot worse.
The NFL player was on special teams when he tackled Domenik
Hixon on the second-half kickoff September 9th.
Their helmets hit.
Everett fell face-down down on the turf -- with a severe
spinal-cord injury.
But he's recovering after hospital and rehab time in Houston.
His book: "Standing Tall: The Kevin Everett Story" was written
with Sam Carchidi and comes out this week.
Everett and his fiancee will be heading to the Super Bowl in
Arizona, courtesy of an invitation from NFL commissioner Roger
Goodell.
