COLLEGE STATION -- The fourth-ranked Texas A&M women¹s swimming & diving team will host its final home dual meet of the 2007-08 season on Friday at 5 p.m. at the Student Rec Center Natatorium.
A&M (7-1) will welcome the University of Houston (8-7) to town while also honoring the Class of 2008 in their final home appearance.
The Cougars will be looking to snap a four meet losing streak after having been swept by Rice and No. 19 LSU last weekend at home. Houston diver Courtney Forcucci was named the Conference USA Diver of the Week for her performances last weekend.
The Aggies have had two weeks off since capturing a 178-119 win over LSU in Baton Rouge on Jan. 19. A&M will close its dual meet schedule by facing Texas on Saturday in Austin at 1 p.m. in the State Farm Lone Star Showdown.
The Aggies and Cougars have met 30 times with A&M taking 21 of those match-ups. The Aggies have rolled off 17 straight wins in the series dating back to the 1990-91 season. In their last meeting, A&M prevailed 169-116 on Jan. 19, 2007 in Houston.
A&M will honor its six seniors prior to the start of the meet. Swimming in
the final collegiate home meet of their careers will be Chelsea Helgason
(Olympia, Wash.), Brittany Lentz-Raiford (Humble), Erin Mahoney (Wichita, Kan.), Beth McCullough (Austin), Megan Rains (Puyallup, Wash.), and Jenni Stratton (Portland, Ore.).
Admission to Friday¹s meet is free of charge. The 12th Man Team Rewards Program will be in attendance to scan its members as well.
