AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (AP) - Rasheed Wallace scored 21 points and
grabbed nine rebounds in Detroit's 90-67 destruction of visiting
Dallas. It's the Pistons' fifth straight victory.
It's the Mavericks lowest scoring game and worst shooting
performance of the season at 30 percent.
Dallas missed 16 straight shots during an 8½ minute span over
the first and second quarters but trailed by just six at the half.
Detroit pulled away in the third quarter, building a 15-point
lead, as it held Dallas to 13 points. That matched the Mavs'
lowest-scoring quarter of the season.
Dallas star Dirk Nowitzki (noh-VIHT'-skee) had 15 points on
3-of-18 shooting and 10 rebounds.
The Central Division-leading Pistons move within three and
a-half games of Eastern Conference leader Boston.
The Mavericks missed a chance to pull into a first-place tie
with New Orleans in the Southwest Division. They've lost two in a
row after winning 12 of 14.
