WACO, Texas -- Curtis Jerrells had 16 points to lead Baylor past Texas Tech 80-74 tonight in Pat Knight's first game as the Red Raiders head coach since his father Bob Knight's resignation.
The Bears (17-4, 5-2 Big 12) snapped a two-game losing streak
that had knocked them out of the Top 25 after they were in the
national rankings for the first time since 1969.
Mike Singletary had 20 points for Texas Tech (12-9, 3-4), which
dropped to 1-7 on the road. Alan Voskuil added 16, including four
LaceDarius Dunn and Josh Loomers added 14 points each for
Baylor. Kevin Rogers had 10.
The Red Raiders play at Nebraska on Saturday before Pat Knight
makes his home debut next Wednesday against 20th-ranked Kansas
