A&M Women Remain No. 3, Aggie Men Leap To No. 21 In Track And Field Rrankings

COLLEGE STATION -- Recent indoor track and field rankings still have the Texas A&M women ranked No. 3 in the country behind No. 1 LSU and No. 2 Tennessee. Meanwhile the Aggie men jumped into the No. 21 position after strong performances in Kentucky last weekend.

Fueling the women’s high ranking are a national leading 4 x 400 relay (3:34.61) along with two athletes ranked No. 2 in their respective events – Porscha Lucas in the 200 (23.16) and Jessica Beard in the 400 (52.87).

The men rose from a previous ranking of No. 49 with a 4 x 400 relay (3:08.03) that is second in the country. Plus they currently have four NCAA provisional qualifiers.

At the top of the men’s list is Tennessee, followed by Florida, Arkansas, UCLA and BYU in the top five. Following the top three women’s squads among the top five are Arkansas and Oregon.
