The Bryan softball team recognized the past, then looked to the future Tuesday night.
The Lady Vikings said thanks to Janice Williamson, who started the program in 1989, won 419 games, and captured a state championship as head coach of the Big Blue.
Then, her longtime assistant and successor, Enrique Luna, sent the Vikes out for their season-opener.
Bryan beat Waco, 13-to-0, in Luna's lid lifter.
The Lady Vikes and A&M Consolidated will start play in the BCS Tourney Thursday.
