DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Ryan Newman has won the 50th running of the Daytona 500, giving team owner Roger Penske his first
victory in the Great American Race.
Newman, driving the Number-12 Dodge, beat out Kurt Busch for the
checkered flag. Tony Stewart was third.
The first half of the race was virtually caution-free with the
first yellow coming out on the 80th lap. There were a total of
seven cautions with six coming in the final 49 laps.
Kyle Busch was fourth and Reed Sorenson came in fifth.
