IRVING -- Oklahoma State guard Byron Eaton has been named as the Big 12 Conference's basketball player of the week.
Eaton, a 5-foot-11 junior from Dallas, led Oklahoma State to a
93-83 win over Baylor and a 59-54 win over then-16th-ranked Texas
A&M. The latter win ended the Cowboys' 19-game road losing streak.
Eaton averaged 21 points and 6.5 assists per game in the two
wins. Against Baylor, he scored a career-high 25 points to go with
eight assists, five rebounds and three steals and went 14-of-16
from the free-throw line.
Kansas State freshman forward Michael Beasley received the
league's rookie of the week award for the sixth time this season,
tying the Big 12 record set last season by Kevin Durant of Texas.
