Gibson improved to a perfect 6-0 on the season winning three this weekend at the Kajikawa Classic in Tempe, Ariz. Gibson earned the start against Nevada, No. 1 Arizona and No. 15 Washington. She worked 21 complete innings, striking out 16 and only al- lowing five earned runs. Against Nevada, Gibson recorded her second shutout of the season. Gibson’s 366 career strikeouts puts her sixth all-time in A&M’s record book.
The senior All-American helped her cause at the plate this weekend batting at a .400 clip and belting two homeruns, a double and five singles to drive home seven RBIs. Gibson also drew three walks to become the Big 12 career leader (125). After her two homeruns this weekend, Gibson is now just three homeruns shy of breaking the Big 12 career record held by Jennifer Lizama, Nebraska, 1997-00 (47).
