COLUMBUS, Ga.- Texas A&M softball seniors Megan Gibson and Jamie Hinshaw were named to the 2008 NFCA Leadoff Classic All-Tournament team, tournament officials announced today.
Gibson made three starts for the Aggies in the circle. She posted a 0.00 ERA working 20 scoreless innings against No. 19 DePaul, Florida State and NC State, improving her record to a perfect 12-0 on the season. The All-American struck out 24 batters including a season-high 10 against NC State.
At the plate Hinshaw posted a .467 average. The Aggie third baseman went 7-for-15 scoring twice and driving in three runs helping the second-ranked Aggies post a 4-1 tournament record. Against FSU, Hinshaw was a perfect 3-for-3 with a run scored and three RBIs.
2008 NFCA Leadoff Classic All-Tournament Team
Team Champion – Michigan (5-0) ** Tennessee also finished tournament play 5-0. Michigan was declared the champion based on run differential.
