COLLEGE STATION -- Texas A&M’s Josh Carter and Joseph Jones have been named to the All-District 9 Team by the National Association of Basketball Coaches.
Carter, a junior guard/forward from Dallas, was named to the first team. Jones, a senior forward/center from Normangee, was tabbed for the second team.
Carter leads the Aggies in scoring with 12.6 points per game and has made 63 three-point field goals. Jones averages 10.7 points and 5.2 rebounds. Jones was named to the team for the third straight year after earning first-team honors in 2006 and second-team status last year. A&M has been represented on the team for eight straight years, including three consecutive seasons with multiple honorees.
Other members of the first team are Texas’ D.J. Augustin, Baylor’s Curtis Jerrells, Texas Tech’s Martin Zeno and Houston’s Robert McKiver. Joining Jones on the second team are Texas’ A.J. Abrams and Damion James, Arkansas’ Sonny Weems and Sam Houston State’s Ryan Bright.
