Keith Stein hit two home runs and Todd Sebek, Daniel Nottebart, and Ryan Trevino each added another as Sam Houston State blasted Prairie View A&M 21-6 in a non-conference baseball game Wednesday evening at Panther Field.
Sam Houston State (6-3) scored 21 runs on 16 hits and two Prairie View errors. Ryan Weber led the Kats with three hits. Sebek, Stein, Trevino, and Braeden Riley each had two hits.
Sam Houston jumped out to a 10-0 lead with a nine-run third inning. The Kats scored multiple runs in each of the next four innings before the contest was stopped by the run-rule in the seventh.
Spencer Parish (1-0) earned the win, spreading four hits over four innings while striking out two batters. Zac Baker, Stephen Price, and Casey Springer each pitched one inning in relief.
Prairie View A&M (9-2) totaled 11 hits.
Sam Houston State returns to Don Sanders Stadium Thursday for a 6:30 p.m. game with Texas-Pan American.
