AUSTIN (AP) - Brian Davis' short baseline jumper with 1 second
left in overtime lifted Kennedale to a 61-59 win over Burkburnett
in the Class 3A state championship.
Burkburnett's Desmond Strickland had sent the game into overtime
with a 3-pointer and tied it again with three free throws with 14
After a timeout, Kennedale's Dominque Harris drove the left side
of the lane, then dumped the pass to Davis, who just managed to get
the shot over the outstretched arms of two Burkburnett defenders.
Harris led Kennedale (33-5) with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Strickland finished with 23 points for Burkburnett (31-7).
