Gibson Named Big 12 Pitcher of the Week

COLLEGE STATION -- After improving to a perfect 14-0 in the circle, Texas A&M’s Megan Gibson was named the Big 12 Conference Pitcher of the Week for the second consecutive week, the league office announced today. It was Gibson’s sixth career Big 12 weekly award and third this season.

Gibson logged two victories last weekend, improving her season record to 14-0. The senior struck out 16 batters in 14 innings of work while holding opponents to a .184 batting average. Gibson recorded a four-hit, complete game shutout over No. 18 UL-Lafayette and struck out nine batters along the way. At the plate, she posted a 1.714 slugging and .800 on-base percentage and added 20 putouts and six assists in the field. Gibson sits in first in the league with nine doubles, 26 walks, eight shutouts and 13 complete games.

Lindsey Ubrun was named Big 12 Player of the Week after helping Missouri to five wins, as she posted a .500 batting average and a 1.313 slugging percentage at the plate for the Tigers.
