KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Carla Cortijo scored 24 points as Texas upset eighth-ranked Baylor 76-61 today in the quarterfinals of the Big 12 women's tournament.
Texas (21-11) trailed by 16 at halftime but opened the second
half with a 19-3 run to tie the game at 43.
The Longhorns took a 48-46 lead when Cortijo hit a 3-point shot
with about nine minutes left and never trailed again.
Angela Tisdale scored 23 points to lead Baylor (24-6), Rachel
Allison had 16 points and 10 rebounds and Jessica Morrow added 16
Brittainey Raven scored 16 points for Texas and Ashley Lindsey
