KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Aleks Maric had 17 points and 13 rebounds as Nebraska beat Missouri 61-56 tonight in the first round of the Big 12 tournament.
Nebraska (19-11) led by as many as 10 in the second half, but
Jason Horton scored to pull Missouri within 57-56 with 2:08 left.
Steve Harley then scored for Nebraska, Maric blocked a shot by
Leo Lyons, and Jay-R Strowbridge was fouled and hit both shots for
the final score.
Keon Lawrence had 15 points for Missouri (16-16), Matt Lawrence
had 12 and Demarre Carroll had 10 points and eight rebounds.
Harley had 14 points for Nebraska.
Maric had his 38th double-double in a conference game, the most
by any active Big 12 player.
