BATON ROUGE, LA -- Morenike Atunrase scored 19 points to lead Texas A&M to a 91-52 rout of Texas-San Antonio in today's first round of the NCAA women's tournament.
The 27-7 Aggies had an easy time with the overmatched 23-10
Roadrunners. A&M took a lead to open the game in Baton Rouge and
never relinquishing it.
Texas-San Antonio was making its first appearance in the
tournament. It attempted only 15 shots in the first half and
committed 30 turnovers for the game, allowing the Aggies to score
38 points on them.
Danielle Gant scored 18 points for the Aggies before going to
the bench early in the second half.
Monica Gibbs led Texas-San Antonio with 14 points.
