COLLEGE STATION -- The Texas A&M men’s golf team is No. 17 in the latest Golfweek magazine national rankings.
Junior Bronson Burgoon (The Woodlands, Texas) is 40th and freshman Nacho Elvira (Santander, Spain) is 52nd in the individual ratings.
The Aggies have finished in the top six in all four spring tournaments, including a team victory at the Barona Collegiate Cup and a runner-up finish at the at John Burns Intercollegiate. A&M posted a school-record score of 37 under-par at the Barona Cup and is a combined 33-under-par this spring.
After sitting out the fall, Burgoon posted a runner-up individual effort at the Burns, tying the school record at 13-under, and tied for fourth at the Barona Cup. Elvira won the Barona Cup with a 12-under-par score and tied for sixth at the U.S. Collegiate Championship.
A&M closes its regular season at the Arizona State Thunderbird Invitational April 11-13 in Tempe, Ariz. The Big 12 Championship is slated for April 25-27 at Whispering Pines Golf Club in Trinity, Texas.
